How It Works

PhoneFactor provides built-in support for Imprivata OneSign and OneSign Anywhere. When enabling PhoneFactor to secure access to Imprivata, PhoneFactor acts as a RADIUS proxy server. When a user logs in a RADIUS request is made to the PhoneFactor Agent. The Agent validates the username/password with the target RADIUS server before initiating a PhoneFactor authentication. If the authentication succeeds, the user is granted access.

The PhoneFactor Agent runs on existing hardware; no new server hardware or appliances are required. It synchronizes with existing Active Directory and LDAP servers for centralized user management, and offers self-enrollment and management tools to streamline user deployment and support.

PhoneFactor’s hybrid service architecture allows organizations to store all critical user data within their infrastructure while leveraging the high-scale PhoneFactor Service to place authentication calls, send text messages, and communicate with the PhoneFactor App. The PhoneFactor Service is supported by a network of redundant data centers and telecommunications providers ensuring the highest level of availability.
