Recent attacks against defense contractors Lockheed Martin, L-3, and Northrop Grumman are reportedly leveraging information about RSA SecurID tokens obtained through a breach at RSA earlier this year. RSA initially disclosed that information obtained by hackers relative to its SecurID tokens “could potentially be used to reduce the effectiveness of a current two-factor authentication implementation,” but have otherwise said very little publicly about the incident.
The attacks at Lockheed Martin and other defense contractors demonstrate that the compromised information is being actively exploited by attackers to infiltrate some of the most secure networks in the world.
