He highlights PhoneFactor, an inexpensive and easy to implement Web-based phone solution. Columbus-based OhioHealth installed the system when state law required that two factors of authentication be used, and tokens proved to be both expensive and inconvenient when a doctor needed to urgently authorize a prescription from a remote location.
“But when doctors would get a call or a page about a patient in the middle of the night, ‘the tokens were nowhere to be found,’ says Michael Krouse, chief information officer.”
