Ellen Messmer of Network World looks at how First Midwest Bank is utilizing PhoneFactor to combat malware and man-in-the-middle type attacks that can defeat traditional token-based two-factor authentication. Prior to the PhoneFactor deployment, First Midwest Bank caught an attack through internal fraud-detection operations that had bypassed their token deployment. “It was a shock to see how token-based authentication could be compromised.”
