American Banker: New Security Rules May Spark New Technology

The recently released update to the FFIEC’s Guidance on Authentication in an Internet Banking Environment has many banks going back to the drawing board looking for a stronger authentication solution, like PhoneFactor, to secure online banking. The article states that, “The methods banks favored six years ago, when the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council issued its initial guidance on how to protect online account access, are no longer sufficient against today’s threats.”
