American Banker: Greek Bank to Use PhoneFactor Service

The increasing prevalence of man-in-the-middle attacks, like ZeuS, and other malware have banks both here in the United States and across the globe on heightened alert. American Banker looks at how Proton Bank in Greece has implemented PhoneFactor defeat today’s threats.

“When a user receives an authentication call, the messages are all in Greek,” said Fortis Mitsakis, Proton Bank’s Chief Technology Officer. “It’s quick – the user’s phone rings within a few seconds, and the caller ID displays a local number.”
