Welcome to the new PhoneFactor blog. My name is Steve Dispensa, and I’m the Chief Technology Officer at Positive Networks. I’m thrilled to announce PhoneFactor, our new phone-based two-factor authentication service. PhoneFactor is the result of a couple of years of thinking and designing and many months of coding.
PhoneFactor uses your phone to do a better job of validating your identity during logins. When you log into an application, the system makes a confirmation call to your pre-registered phone number. You answer the phone and press #, and the login completes.
The beauty of this system is how simple it is. Users don’t have to carry yet another device, and administrators don’t need to manage tokens, smart cards, USB tokens, and so on.
I’ve posted several articles on my personal blog, Kernel Mustard, and I’ll be bringing some of those posts over here as time goes on.
Feel free to drop me an e-mail at any time – dispensa at positivenetworks . net – and don’t forget to check out the PhoneFactor website.
