Busy doesn’t begin to describe the environment around here right now! The software development team continues to crank out new features and improvements to PhoneFactor, and I’m thrilled to see how many people have downloaded and implemented PhoneFactor in their networks. In fact, we’ve been so busy around here that I have a couple of belated announcements to make about new features that are already shipping in the product.
So, with no further ado, I’m pleased to announce the immediate availability of the PhoneFactor Web SDK. The SDK is available from the PhoneFactor website; just register as usual and follow the prompts.
The Web SDK includes language bindings and sample code for Ruby (including, of course, Ruby on Rails), php, and perl. The code is generally pretty short, and is really easy to integrate into any existing Web app that has a username/password prompt.
The SDK is available free of charge, and includes an unlimited number of users and authentications. You are responsible for maintaining your own user database (which you obviously already have or you wouldn’t need PhoneFactor!), including each user’s registered phone number.
Let me know if there are any questions about implementing the SDK. Free support for the SDK is being provided on a best-effort basis by e-mailing phonefactor – phonefactor – net (with an at sign and a dot in place of the dashes). Free telephone support is not being provided at this time, but of course, Positive’s award-winning enterprise service agreements are available if you have more advanced support needs.
So, come and get it!
