James Montgomery, CEO - Montgomery & Co

James Montgomery serves as chief executive officer at Montgomery & Co and is focused on the strategic growth and direction of the firm, which has quickly grown to become one of the leading investment banks with offices in four locations on the West Coast. Mr. Montgomery founded the firm in 1986, and chairs the Executive Committee, Management Committee and Investment Committee of Montgomery & Co. He also serves as chief executive officer of Digital Coast Ventures LLC, an affiliated investment vehicle, and was a founder of venture capital firm Palomar Ventures.

Mr. Montgomery is a recognized industry expert in high technology industries and markets, and has advised leading global, media, communications and technology companies regarding industry consolidation, new market entry, divestitures, strategic alliances and capital formation. Mr. Montgomery has also been a seed investor in a range of successful software, technology, biotechnology and communications companies.

In addition to serving on the Board of Positive Networks, Mr. Montgomery is also on the board of trustees of the California Science Center Foundation, the University of California San Diego Foundation and the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Montgomery received his Master’s degree in economics from Cambridge University and holds a B.A. degree from the University of California, San Diego.

Martin C. Bicknell, CEO - Mariner Wealth Advisors

Martin is a former Senior Vice President-Investments of A.G. Edwards & Sons. During his 15-year tenure there, he led a staff of professional financial consultants in providing customized wealth management solutions for public and private corporations, high net-worth individuals and their families, and charitable organizations. In addition to managing the team, he was actively involved with the execution phase of the financial plans developed for the company’s sophisticated clients.

Prior to founding Mariner Wealth Advisors, Martin counseled small to medium-sized businesses, including Xceligent, Pitt Plastics, National Mills, Zouire Incorporated, Bicknell Properties and National Pizza, in financial matters. A recognized leader in the field of financial problem-solving for companies and their executives, he has become a valuable resource for other successful entrepreneurs.

Martin has extensive personal and professional experience in the realm of closely held family businesses and the complexities that are unique to this area. From strategic planning for the accomplishment of long range goals, to succession planning and wealth transfer, he brings a breadth of knowledge to the table that encourages creative thought and visionary solutions.

Michael Levin, Principal - M Levin & Associates

Michael Levin, Founder and Principal of ML Levin and Associates, is a proven executive with 20 years experience in technology with particular expertise in new business growth, including both early-stage start-ups and business unit launches within the corporate environment. Throughout his career, Levin has led successful efforts in Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Corporate Development. He has often fulfilled the role of partner, advisor and confidant to Founders, CEOs and other senior executives.

Most recently, as Executive Vice-President of LaGarde, Michael wore virtually every non-technical hat as head of Sales, Marketing and Business Development, leader of Corporate Development and fund raising efforts and partner, advisor and confidant to the Founder and CEO. Prior to LaGarde, Michael spent 15 years with Sprint in increasingly responsible positions involving sales, marketing, business development, corporate development and strategic planning.

Under Michael’s leadership, LaGarde grew to over $8 million in sales in 2006 from a $1.2 million annual run rate in mid-2002, when he first joined the Company. In the process, he successfully established LaGarde as a recognized leading national player in the ecommerce market, culminating in a west coast Venture Capital $6 million investment at a valuation eight times the Company’s value when he joined it.

Tim Sutton, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Mr. Sutton co-founded Positive Networks in 2001 after 17 years of experience in the software and telecommunications industries.

Steve Dispensa, Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder

Steve joined Positive Networks as Chief Technology Officer in 2001. Since co-founding Positive, he has had responsibility for product definition, architecture, product development, and operations. He also manages the overall technology strategy of the company.
